Florence Elections 2026
Eleven candidates are running for five seats on the Florence City Council
Video and writing by Will Yurman

In an unusual election year, all five seats on the City of Florence City Council are on the ballot, including the job of mayor. Eleven candidates are competing in three groups, to elect the mayor, two council members who will serve four-year terms, and two council members who will serve two years each. It’s not nearly as complicated as I just made it seem.
I spoke to each candidate for an hour or so, and recorded those interviews on video. In addition to my written story and edited video, you can watch the complete, unedited video, which you can find at the bottom of each post.
Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters starting October 14. Completed ballots must be mailed with a valid postmark by Election Day, placed in an authorized drop box, or you may vote in-person in Eugene. The Florence ballot drop box is located outside the Florence police station at 900 Greenwood Street.
